ASU’s Annual 2003 Asian Cultural Night Another Success
To kick off the event, the AAPASC put together another wonderful reception with food catered by David Kwan’s Chinese Buffet. Many enjoyed the finger foods, while being entertained with a traditional Lion Dance performed by the Lau Lion Dance Team, a local group from Glendale.
Asian American Groups Take Action Against The Tonight Show
NAPALC and KAC, along with the other organizations, took this step because of NBC’s and Mr. Leno’s refusal to even meet to discuss the issues. Mr. Leno was initially contacted by KAC in a letter dated March 5, 2003 to express concern and disappointment regarding The Tonight Show's repeated use of a racially inflammatory stereotype.

Remembering Doc Yee
I remember Doc Yee’s office at the 35th Avenue and Glendale strip mall where Totem and Skaggs used to be. We didn’t live far from there. I remember when every little thing went wrong with my eyes, like the time I thought surely I was going blind when an allergic reaction made my eyes bulge. “Are you sure, doc?” I said. “Just an allergy?” In his always calm and reassuring manner. He nodded yes.
The Japanese American National Museum is a National Treasure
The museum helped me to better understand the JA experience and how their integration into American society correlates with the progression of America as a whole. Standing inside an actual relocation barrack put chills up my spine, even though I will never fully understand the pain and suffering of those JA’s placed into internment camps.

The Teaching of Traditions
There is something I believe each of us can and should do these days. That something is to strengthen personal security. Whether you live alone or must look out for the safety of your family, security has never been more important than it is now.

PRAC PERSPECTIVE: SKIMPY CLOTHES, HOT FOOD AND FAMILY
I go once a month to Vegas. But, it’s not for the reason you think. Even though I’m Asian, I don’t gamble. (Yes, I really said that.) I go up to Vegas for the food.
Round-Up
While much historiography exists regarding the Japanese American experiences within Poston and Gila River, the two internment camps based in Arizona, much remains to be documented regarding initial patterns of migration and settlement to the Arizona Territory from the nineteenth century through the 1940s.

Womanly Speaking...
All she knew was that she needed to hide in this cave-like underground every time the marching footsteps of the enemy were heard. Then one day, she was told everything was fine, no more hiding, that the American GI’s in their khaki uniforms had arrived and that they were the good guys with chocolates and chewing gum to spare.
